There are many choices when it comes to commercial sheetfed, web and digital printing. And, there are many ways to ensure top quality in each job. The creative design, photography, illustration and copy all play a part in communicating the desired message. The paper selection, combination of inks, the proper coatings and finishing all play a part in making your next project the best it can be.
But over the years, Williamson people dig just a little deeper to make the creative design even better.
The WIMS® System

Whether it's an automotive logo, diamond ring or a fishing lure, you can add a new dimension of reflectance to your printed image with the WIMS System of printing metallic inks. It's the perfect way to realistically reproduce metallic objects.
Beyond that, you can use the system artistically to add a surreal, almost holographic effect, depending on your application. Two additional negatives, gold and/or silver, are produced from your original artwork, and the four-color separations are adjusted to accommodate the additional ink printed in the metallic areas. Since up to five colors may be printed in any given area, screen moires may occur. However, they can be avoided through Stochastic screening, or by using conventional screening at fine-line resolutions that match the metallic sep angle to one of the traditional four color angles.
Since metallic inks are inherently opaque, they are printed first, followed by the four colors in the normal sequence, although some adjustment in tack-rating may be required. The WIMS System of printing metallic inks may cost more, but the results can be remarkably brilliant. If you haven't seen printed samples illustrating the WIMS way,

Coatings can make a difference
You can't just let it lie there, lifeless. Who can you trust to cover up what you've done? If you're a print designer, or art director, you need someone to cover up your best work. With the best coatings. Whether it's UV or aqueous, dull or gloss varnish, or some combination of them. Whether you want your images to jump off the page or just interact more subtly. Williamson Printing Corporation has you covered.
Now you can achieve the highest-caliber results with one pass through the press. One pass. Which means you get more precise, controllable results than ever before. And you save time. No waiting for drying, no taking the job off press and putting it back on hours later. Which means you also save money. The fact is, no printer in the country has more advanced in-line coating capabilities than Williamson.
Williamson Printing Corporation has several other ways to make your work shine. Williamson has the resources to respond to any printing need. We're a one stop shop, and we operate 24 hours a day. Our pressmen know the craft of printing. And they practice it on the latest equipment, consistently achieving higher and higher standards of quality. So if you have a killer concept, turn it in to Williamson.

Hexachrome Perfection
Hexachrome is the high fidelity 6-color process printing system developed by Pantone, Inc. The CMYK primaries are modified into more Chromatic inks, with Orange and Green primaries added. The larger color gamut of Hexachrome accurately reproduces vibrant and subtle colors that previously could not be duplicated with 4/C process printing. Hexachrome can produce 90% of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Colors.
Williamson was one of the first commercial printers in the United States to test and develop the technique. Few printers produce the consistent quality. But Williamson doesn't stop there.
With the addition of 4 primary and 2 additional Hexachrome inks, plus the addition of coatings, the Hexachrome printing technique requires at least an eight color press. Through research and development, Williamson has tested and developed their own "poor man's hexachrome" process, approaching the vibrancy on a more economical six color press.
With some adjustments in the primary Hexachrome CMYK formula and adding a fifth color - what we call Mystery Pink - the result is quite dramatic an economical in some situations.
